Week 15 – 2015

While the sun is warming up my back yard, I am rounding up behind my computer today to get outside after finishing this blog post with a cup of tea and some crochet. Spring has definitely sprung in The Netherlands and it is lifting the spirits.

Last weekend was full of happy happenings. On Saturday a table full of lovely chatting and cable crocheting ladies in Hoogerheide, at the beautiful shop Stoffen & Stiksels. Such a lovely and welcoming atmosphere with beautiful yarns and fabrics, definitely a must-visit if you’re in the area. Several Winter and Summer shawls from Puur Haken were started on Saturday and looking all very good. Such joy to see all the different colours of the same project. Thanks a lot Martine and ladies for having me!

On Sunday I joined the book launch party of Claire and Saskia, who presented their beautiful third crochet book Haken en Kleur Buiten at the Wolplein Inspiratie Centrum. Another lovely gathering with yarn loving ladies like Lisanne and Marianne, between yummy looking colour ranges and yarn collections. Lisanne spoiled our little peanut with the cutest hat and boots set, which happens to match absolutely perfect with my latest baby blanket project. Such a sweetheart she is. I got the new Drops Belle cotton, viscose and linen mix yarn at Wolplein because it is so soft and has a little sheen which I think will be perfect for a matching baby cardigan. Knit or crochet, I am undecided yet. Some swatching is on my project list and I will keep you updated. Have you tried this new yarn yet? I am curious to hear about your experiences.

Regarding my pregnancy I’ve had a couple of rough days and weeks where the settings for my diabetes were constantly changing and kept me busy day and night. Today is actually a very good day, so I am enjoying it as much as I can. But I am well aware my own and baby’s health need absolute priority, which means it will keep me off my crochet and design work more and more the coming months. I take it day by day and will keep on popping up here on the blog, but probably more on Instagram if you’re curious to see what I am up to more regularly.

Wishing you a lovely and sunny week!

Demonstratie Kabelhaken

Demonstratie Kabelhaken

This post is about the cable crochet workshop that will take place this Saturday in The Netherlands, therefore written in Dutch.
