2016 week 16

2016 week 16
2016 week 16

What a beautiful weekend we had; quite some sunshine, lots of calm and fun. It was the last day of the four week sock knitting course I took at Wollekes, the local yarn shop. More about the finished sock and my opinion on sock knitting soon. There was a lot of behind-the-scenes crocheting for my new book, of which I am sharing some yummy yarn goodness in these pictures. The beautiful green yarn with matching buttons and my Spring coat is a total different story; when I am done with the book in a couple weeks I will give my coat a make-over with these new buttons and crochet a matching shawl. Looking at this picture my hands are getting so itchy again… a couple more weeks waiting should be doable.

This week I’ll blog about the sock knitting adventure, have you joined the sock knitting band wagon yet? This Sunday April 24 I will host a crochet workshop with the Vogelvluchtsjaal from my book Hollands Welgaren at Cross & Woods in The Hague. The pattern was adjusted to fit the beautiful Nurturing Fibres Supertwist Sock yarn. If you haven’t signed up yet, there’s a few spots left! Click here to find out more or read my previous blog post.

Have a lovely week and I hope to see you on Sunday!

Dear all, thank you so much for your encouraging words on my previous post. You make coming back to blogging a total treat!

Now let me return the favour and tell you about the ‘workshop vogelvluchtsjaal’ I am teaching next week in The Hague at the beautiful Cross & Woods Crafting Parlour shop. I have teamed up with them to put together a special yarn package of the gorgeous Nurturing Fibres Supertwist Sock yarn, for the Vogelvlucht sjaal from my latest book Hollands Welgaren. This yarn is absolutely a dream to crochet with and the colour palette is so yummy, I would love to take a bite. Almost, haha.

The workshop is planned on Sunday April 24 from 2-4pm. For more details and to select your choice of colour – it’s a tough one! – have a look at the Cross & Woods website here. My shawl is made with Quince and Driftwood, but I can totally see numerous other beautiful combinations like Aged Leather and Natural, Sea Glass with Odette, or even a slightly variegated yarn like Roxy’ Cafe together with Vintage Rose for a Winter theme. Possibilities are endless with this beautiful palette.

There are only a few spots left, so hurry and sign up. I’d love to see you next Sunday!

Have a lovely weekend!
