Doily Blanket Progress
Thank you all so much for your lovely and sweet replies to ‘the news’ of my pregnancy; your support means so much. I will reply to your comments in a minute, but I have to share with you the doily blanket progress and these beautiful cotton candy pastel colours of MoYa organic cotton. You can guess by now who I am making this baby blanket for, right? I spent quite some time crocheting doilies last weekend and I am at the point where I am contemplating designs. Oh the joy of a project coming together the way you’ve imagined it…
The idea is to join each of them with a contrasting border, with little coloured squares in between. The natural coloured yarn is saved for that part. I don’t think there’s enough yarn for a border around the entire blanket, but I am still doubting whether to fill up the space between the octagons with half squares, to make straight edges. Suggestions from your end are welcome! The lay out is 4×4 octagons now, if there’s enough yarn left after these I’ll make it 4×5 but we’ll see about that soon.
Sun is shining outside, there are pretty Spring colours on my table, I can get used to this!
find MoYa organic cotton retailers through Scaapi, the colours presented here are natural, sand, ice blue, silver, charcoal, misty rose, candyfloss and dusty pink. The doily pattern is from Puur Haken, and details of how to join them can be found here.
