End of May 2015
We are nearing the end of May, can you believe it? The weather is getting warmer and warmer, as soon as the sun is out now in The Netherlands, it’s nice to be outside. We are greatly enjoying our new backyard; we went from jungle and mini pond to just a lawn, and we love the quiet and peace that comes with that. So does Floyd by the way, he enjoys fetching ball and chilling on the lawn too.
On the yarn side of my life I was very happy to share with you the baby poncho made with Moeke Yarns last week. It’s gotten such great comments both here, on Instagram and Facebook, thank you all for the love! Last weekend I finished the teal baby bolero as you can see in the pictures, it’s knitted with one skein of Quince & Co. Tern wool and silk blend, such a dream to knit with. The pattern is very well written and detailed, to say the least. I can highly recommend it to the experienced knitter, I wouldn’t say absolute beginners. You really can’t go wrong with it, a big bravo for the designer of Petit Artichaut!
On my hook is the last round of the doily blanket with MoYa organic cotton and of course I am 5 grams short of yarn to finish it. But that yarn will come in soon, and after that I will post lots of images and the pattern for the border as well, to share it with you. I hope you’ll love it as much as I do!
On my needles now is the Lattice Bonnet. It took me quite some cursing and frogging, but with help from google and youtube I got the hang of the quilted lattice stitch and now I just can’t get enough of it. The yarn and it’s beautiful subtle colouring is helping too; it’s MoYa organic cotton in the colour Snow Drops, available through Scaapi. For more details of how I like the pattern, have a look at my Ravelry project page.
Wishing you a beautiful week! xo
